Motivational Interviewing

The team presented outcomes of their Motivational Interviewing (MI) informed approach research. MI approach includes open-ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summaries, to workplace coaching. Hypothesized outcomes include an increase in motivation, work performance, work satisfaction, and a decrease in symptoms of burnout. (2020)

Attracting, Retaining, and Advancing Women in Transit

Dr. Collins collaborative work with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine - Transportation Research Board in Washington, D.C., researching strategies that have been deployed in transit industries to recruit, retain, and advance women in numerous roles. (2018)

Executive Coaching Research

In partnership with CoachSource, Collins RVT helped survey organization practice managers, external coaches, internal coaches and executives who received coaching. The methodology and high level findings can be found on this resource provided. (2018)

Transportation Workforce Planning & Development Strategies

While advising on a panel for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine - Transportation Research Board in Washington, D.C., Dr. Collins assisted a team in summarizing the state of practice of implementing workforce planning and development strategies in the transportation industry. Research presented by Collins, Quint, and North at the Coaching in Leadership and Healthcare: Theory, Practice and Results Conference organized by the Institue of Coaching, McLean Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. (2012)

Predicting Leadership Qualities and Styles in Sales

A resource developed by Collins, Pizelo, Jourdan, Munsterteiger, and Cospito on videoconference coaching. The research was presented at the  Harvard Medical School Coaching Conference as a coaching competency model. (2016)
